SYRIA, Seleucis and Pieria. Antioch. Galba. AD 68-69. AR Tetradrachm (24mm, 14.25 g, 1h). Dated year 116 of the Caesarean Era (AD 68). Laureate head right / Eagle standing left on thunderbolt, with wings spread; palm frond to left, ETOYC ςIP (date) to right. McAlee 302; Prieur 93 (citing 6); RPC 4193. Good VF, toned. Rare.


Excellent early portrait, very likely not working off of an official imago and thus not as severe as the later issues dated by regnal year.
